My Top TV Shows of 2020

Hello my lovelies!

With millions of us now under instruction to stay at home, I thought that now would be the perfect time to share with you my favourite television shows that aired in the year that was 2020. From first-loves to royal affairs, you’re sure to find something that you will love within this list.

Normal People (BBC iPlayer)

2020 was the year that we were captivated by the love story of Marianne and Connell in BBC’s Normal People. Whilst it was rich in romance, the show also had a very raw storyline as it focused on topics such as depression and domestic abuse. I was also captivated by the novel to which the adaption came from written by the talented Sally Rooney.

The Crown (Netflix)

The Crown has been one of my favourite shows for a number of years now, so I was ecstatic when Netflix released season 4 last October. With an all-star cast, the latest season pulled back the curtain shadowing The Royal Family as they exposed the rise and fall of Margret Thatcher, as well as Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s eventful marriage.

Staged (BBC iPlayer)

If you’re in need of a show that will lift your spirits, you will love Staged. Starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, this BBC comedy is set during the both the first and second lockdowns and is filmed by via Zoom (which in a way makes it lot more relatable). The show also captures British humour perfectly and is the perfect Saturday evening watch!

Hollywood (Netflix)

Set within 1940’s America, Hollywood exposes you to the dark-side of cinema’s golden age. Focusing on themes include adultery and racism, this Netflix original gives us an insight into what aspiring actors and film buffs had to do to make their dreams come true.

What show did you enjoy watching during 2020?

Thank you for reading,

lots of love
