Happy Valentine’s Day!

Whoever you’re spending Valentine’s Day with this year, there is nothing better than a relaxed night in watch a slushy rom-com on Netflix whilst consuming your favourite snacks and beverages. With so many lovey-dovey options available on the streaming platform, I’ve compiled together a couple of my favourites, allowing you to find the perfect film for you, no matter what your relationship status may be!

The ones for the… Hopeless Romantic

About Time

From the writer of Love Actually and Notting Hill, About Time is the perfect film for if you’re in need of a little bit of a giggle this Valentines. Binding together the themes of love and time travel, this joyful film follows the love story of Tim (Domhnalll Gleeson) and Mary (Rachel McAdams) as Tim uses his ability to travel in time to change his past in order to his perfect future. With an incredible soundtrack and fabulous casting, this British rom-com is sure to bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye!

P.S. I Love You

Grab the tissues for this one! Showing that true love really does last forever, P.S I Love You stars Hilary Swank as Holly and Gerard Butler as her late husband Gerry, who’s love story is told by a series of bittersweet letters written by Gerry before his passing.

The ones for the… Independent Woman

Sex and the City

This a film that need’s no little explanation! Following the lives of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda, Sex and the City is the film to watch when you want to feel like an absolute girl boss! Exploring the themes of friendship and femininity, SITC shows us that although men may come and go, our love for our friends will never end.

Legally Blonde

Whilst it may not be about romance, Legally Blonde teaches us to love ourselves and discover our own self-worth. It’s also the film that introduces us to the ultimate girl boss, Elle Woods! With a love of everything pink and her bubbly personality, she paved the way for powerful women within the rom-com movie sector.

A few other notable mentions: Endless Love, The Best of Me, Safe Haven, The Longest Ride, The Kissing Booth, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and To All The Boys P.S I Still Love You (which is currently trending in the UK!)

Thank you for reading,

lots of love

Hannah, x
