A Full Face of my 2018 Makeup Favourites

To all my fellow makeup lovers out there, you will know how it feels to experience walking into to your local Boots or Superdrug, walking down the long aisle of makeup counters, and asking yourself the question of where on Earth do I start?

With a wide variety of makeup brand’s offering us 1000’s of incredible products, it can be a little difficult to pick out the good from the bad. Well do not fret, I have compiled together my favourite products from the last year to create a makeup look that’s perfect for both everyday and weekend wear!

The Max Factor Illuminating and Hydrating Primer   (£10.99) has everything that I need in a primer. It adds a soft glow to my skin, it keeps my skin hydrated and allows my makeup to last all day! I also apply this alongside my favourite highlighter drops to create the ultimate dewy base.

L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation (£9.99) has been my go-to foundation for so many years now. With its creamy full-coverage formula, True Match buff’s seamlessly into the skin when applied with a beauty sponge and work’s so well with my other base products. I certainly can’t see myself finding anything better!

If you’re looking for a concealer that both brightens and covers blemishes, then look no further than the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer  (£4.19). Loved throughout the beauty community, this heavy duty concealer is perfect for covering every imperfection and will continue to be one of my every-day makeup staples.

I also recommend the… Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (£5.99)

The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder  (£2.99)  is another one of my holy-grail makeup products. Priced under £3, this translucent powder controls shine, reduces pores and sets my makeup place, and I always have a backup at the ready for when I hit pan!

In my opinion, I’ve always found it hard to find the perfect bronzer for my skin tone. That was until I tried the L’Oreal Back to Bronze Matte Bronzer (£8.99). Perfect as both a bronzer and a contour shade, Back to Bronze add’s a stunning sunkissed glow to the skin without looking too orange or ashy.

I also recommend the… CYO The Radiant One Bronzing & Illuminating Compact (£5.00)

Highlighter is one of my favourite makeup products to both apply and buy, with a wide variety of formula and shades available across the high street. Personally, I prefer a powder formula as I think it looks a little more natural. I adore the L’Oreal La Vie En Glow Highlighting Palette in Sunset, with this compact palette featuring 4 stunning shades that add a soft radiant glow to the skin.

I also recommend the… Obsession Liquid Illuminator Lust in Erotic (£7.00) & the 3INAThe Highlighter 201 (£12.95)

Over the last few years, I’ve often strayed away from blush with the fear of it looking too pink or unnatural. That was until I discovered L’Oreal Life’s a Peach Powder Blush (£8.99). This peachy toned blush is perfect for adding a natural flush of colour to the cheeks, and compliment’s green eyes beautifully!

For me personally, 2018 was the year of the single shadow! With intense pigmentation and an eclectic array of shades, the Primark Single Eyeshadow Pans (60p) are incredible, so much so that I have a palette full of them! My favourites shades have to be Firecracker and Brick.  In regards to shimmer shadows, I loved the L’Oreal Eye Paint (£5.99) in the shade Rude Boy.

I also recommend the…Obsession Love Every Shade Eyeshadow Palette (£5.00)

For a girl that wears a cat-eye flick every day, it comes as no surprise that the Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Eyeliner (£6.50) is my makeup must-have. The thin felt-tip applicator allows me to get the perfect flick within seconds, and it’s blacker than black formula allow’s it to last all day!

For someone who has the limpest lashes in the world, I always need a mascara that gives my lashes some volume and thickness, and the Max Factor Masterpiece Lash Crown Defining Mascara (£10.99) ticks both of those boxes. The unique crown wand allows me to build up the product from the root, whilst the crown tip allows me to separate my lashes and grab every single individual lash!

I also recommend the…Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (£8.99)

The Eylure Texture 117 Lashes (£5.40) are my favourite go-to lashes. The messiness of the lash construction creates a natural false lash effect, and they are the perfect finishing touch for any eye-look!

I also recommend the…Ardell Fashion Lash Demi Wispies False Eyelashes(£5.49)

I have never been one to be blown away by brow products and I tend to stick with what I love. But 2018 was the year that my brow routine was completely transformed.

For quick and easy everyday use, the Soap and Glory Archery D-I-Y Brow Bar (£12.00) has everything you need. This travel-friendly brow kit includes two brow powders, a brow wax, highlight, tweezers and a spoolie, and has everything I need for groomed and defined brows.

I also adore the L’Oreal Paradise Brow Pomade (£12.99) in Dark Blonde, and I will always set my brows in place with the Max Factor Natural Brow Styler Clear Eyebrow Gel.

Lip Liner

I don’t often tend to line my lips on an everyday basis, but when I do I always use the NYX Slide On Lip Liner Pencil (£6.00) in the shade Nude Suede. The liner’s creamy formula allows it to glide onto the lips and this nude shade is perfect for pairing with any nude lipstick!

My go-to lipstick of 2018 was the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Nudes Collection (£9.00) in the shade Matte Super Nude. The moisture-rich formula feels comfortable on the lips, and the peachy nude shade can be worn with any kind of makeup look.

I always finish off my makeup looks with a slick of gloss, in particularly the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss (£9.00) in the shade Plums Up. The lip plumping formula instantly makes your lips look fuller and is perfect for layering over matte lipsticks.

I also recommend the…KIKO 3D Hydro Gloss in 03 Pearly Apricot (£7.90)
