Hello, my Lovelies!
If you have been a reader of my blog for a long time, you will be aware that around this time last year, I attended the VIP opening of Turtle Bay Middlesbrough, to which you find my blog post documenting the launch here. Since then I have returned many times, and it is now my favourite place to eat in my hometown, due to their variety of delicious food and drink, as well as their lovely staff and the restaurant’s incredible atmosphere. For these reasons, I was overjoyed when they invited me to join in the celebrations for the restaurants first birthday, and I just had to share my experience with you all!
I attended the birthday celebrations with my mum and sister, as they also love visiting Turtle Bay and we always thoroughly enjoy our time there. As always we were greeted by their friendly staff and began our visit with a round of cocktails, as Turtle Bay offers 2-4-1 cocktails during their happy hours. While my mum and sister opted for the Passion Rum Punch, and I had my TB favourite, the Caribbean Pimms!
We then tucked into our first course, with all three us of sharing the Garlic and Herb Flatbread, a freshly prepared and hand-formed, stone baked flatbread, topped with fresh rocket, crushed chilli and garlic butter, quite simply Devine!
Moving onto the main course, as fans of spicy food, myself and my sister had the Trini Curry Chicken, a hearty chicken curry, with the chicken breast being slowly simmered in coconut milk, mango and Caribbean spices, and is served with sweet onion chutney, coconut rice ‘n’ peas and roti flatbread. If you know me personally, you will be aware of how much I love a curry, and this is what I will usually pick from within a food menu, and this is most certainly the best one I’ve ever eaten! As a lighter lunch option, my mum opted for the West Indian Pulled Chicken Wrap with both a of spiced fries and the watermelon chow, which is perfect for cleansing the palate after a spicy meal.
As our final course, we chose the ultimate indulgent dessert, the Spiced Rum and Chocolate Pot, to which I can only describe this as any chocolate lovers dream!
Later that day, I and my sister returned to what I would describe as the ultimate Caribbean party, were the 2-4-1 cocktails continued to flow as we danced to the best reggae tracks. Our choice of cocktails included the Rum Negroni and Strawberry Daquris, as well as another round of Passion Rum Punch and the Caribbean Pimms, as well as sampling an array of the Rum’s that they have to offer!
Overall we had an incredible time celebrating their first birthday, and I would like to say thank you to Turtle Bay for inviting me to join in the fun, and I can’t wait for my next visit! I would highly recommend you also take a visit, and to find out more information or to book a table, be sure to check out their website.
Thank-you for reading
lots of love
