Hello, my Loves x
Since returning back to University, and transitioning into the Autumn Season,my makeup bag has had an upgrade, including couple of new makeup purchases. So today I wanted to share them with you all, as well as giving my first impressions. I hope you enjoy!
I have heard many people rave about the MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream, and as much I love to have a glowing dewy base, I am still skeptical to spend so much money on a product that may not work for my skin. Therefore I decided to buy the drugstore dupe, and I have to say I am quite underwhelmed so far. Although the strobe cream is increasing the longevity of my base products, I do not see how it creates a dewy base, and I prefer my L’Oreal Lumi Primer. I am not sure if I am using less than I am supposed too, so if any of you have tried the strobe cream out for yourself, how do you apply it and does it work for you?.
For a long time I have been using the L’Oreal True Match, which is most certainly my whole grail foundation, as I love how light it feels on my skin whilst giving me a full coverage finish. I have recently discovered the Healthy Mix Serum, and have found it to have a very similar amount of coverage as the True Match, whilst having a water weight light consistency. Which allows you to build up the coverage of the foundation, without your base becoming to cakey.
NYX Professional Makeup Hot Singles Eye Shadow (Showgirl and Heat Chaleur)
I think I may have now found my favorite drugstore eye shadows, in the form of the NYX Hot Singles Eye Shadows. Although I have still been reaching for my eye shadow palettes for my matte crease shades, I have been applying these single eye shadows to the center of my eyelids. I have been blown away by the pigmentation, and how although they may be shimmer shades I do not have to apply them with a damp flat brush to get a decent amount of product on my lid. I can’t wait to pick up more from the range!
Rimmel is the one brand that doesn’t really feature in my makeup collection, but I have recently been in awe of some of their new product releases, including their lip product launches. Trendsetter is the perfect light nude for my fair skin tone, although it has the perfect amount of pigmentation for a nude shade. I find that the formula of these matte lipstick is a comfort matte, and you can easily apply your favorite gloss on top of them, which is my preferred way of wearing matte lipsticks. Although I must admit I am a little disappointed in the amount of nude shades in the range, as I personally would not wear the majority of the other colors.
At the start of the year I hardly owned any liquid lipsticks, and now my collection is overloaded with them, the majority of being nude shades of course! So I quite simply could not resist picking up another, and this one is my new favorite! First of all the name is adorable, and I love how although this shade has a subtle pink undertone, which perfectly compliments my green eyes. I personally find the formula non-drying and easy to wear, as they don’t transfer or break down on my lips.
I often tend to be quite lazy when applying lip liner, but over the last few months I have really been trying to take the time to apply them, in order to improve the longevity of my lipstick. Although I adore the shade, I have been more blown away by the consistency of the product itself. The formula of the liner is creamy, which quite simply glides on the lips and creates a soft outline and base. I will most certainly be picking up more from the range!
What has been your drugstore product this month?
