Celebrating a Life with Polly

Hello, my Loves!

A few weeks ago I introduced you all to my puppy, Polly in my furry friend tag, which you can read here. Shortly after I discovered an organisation called PuppySpot, which inspired me to write a post celebrating Polly’s life, and inform you of how she has affected myself and my families, physical, mental and spiritual health!

PuppySpot is a service that is committed to helping those responsible breeders place their puppies with loving individuals and families in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Dallas and across the U.S. It is run by a community of dog lovers, with a mission to make lives better by placing healthy puppies into happy homes. With puppies at the centre of the brand, with a rooted belief that dogs should be celebrated, and their owners deserve to experience trust, confidence and transparency when searching for their new companions.

Along with a screened and vetted network of responsible breeders, the service allows finding your new best friend a simple and enjoyable experience. It uses a personalised approach that caters to the needs of those who in search a puppy friend as well as the breeders. Each breeder within the community is held to the highest of standards, with the top priority being the health and safety of all dogs. Following a comprehensive, proprietary screening process, less than 10 percent of breeders who start the PuppySpot review process are then invited to join the exclusive community, ensuring that both the puppies, the breeders and the owners receive the best premium experience.

As a dog owner, their mission and the community really captured my heart, and I know from having Polly from her just being 10 weeks old and purchasing her from a breeder, I would only want other people to have the best experience, and for all the puppies in the US to a happy caring life! I will now share with you all my personal experience with having a puppy, and how she has transformed my families lives.

From the first few days of having Polly, our family life as a whole was completely transformed, we now sit as a family on an evening and relax and wind down together before going to sleep. We love our day’s out with Polly,  whether we are going to the Park or even going to a family members house,  we love witnessing her reaction to having a journey in the car. One of the main factors of making the decision to get a puppy was to boost my sister’s self-esteem as at the time she was going through a stressful period of her life as she was coming to the end of secondary school and those dreaded GSCE exams! I was also preparing myself for the start of a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend, as he was heading back off to university at the end of the summer.  Both I and my sister gained so much from having a cuddly companion, as she reduced the feelings of stress, anxiety and loneliness.

We have also found that she has improved our exercise routine, as we had an actual reason to get ourselves out into the fresh air and take her for a walk, which we now do 3 or 4 times a day! From the effects of the daily exercise and the fresh air, it increases oxytocin levels and lowers cortisol, which reduces stress! It also boosts your immune system.

Other ways that you can benefit from having a dog include; lowers blood pressure, lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels, they reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

They can also be trained to; identify when a patient has a seizure, detect breast and lung cancer, detect things such as peanuts for allergic patients, aid in occupational and speech therapy, detect biomarkers of prostate cancer in urine and help with physical rehabilitation.

Overall making the decision to get a puppy was the best thing our family has ever done, and we could not imagine our lives without her. And I hope that through the help of PuppySpot, so many other lives can be transformed.

If you are a reader living in the US, I would really assure you that if you are wanting to purchase a puppy that you use PuppySpot as your first port of call. And if you are a reader from any other part of the world, that you take a visit to their site to look at just how adorable the puppies are!

I would like to say thank you to PuppySpot for inspiring me to share my personal puppy experience and allowing me to celebrate Polly’s life! To stay updated with the service and to hear about other peoples experiences, I will leave their social media below:
