Hello, my Lovelies! It’s now that time of the year, where we can start to wear red and berry toned lips on a daily basis. This year I have a range of both high end and drugstore products to share with you, I hope you enjoy this post, and if you have any recommendations for autumn lip products, leave them in a comment below!
First of all, I will begin with the most expensive products out of the five! These are the first two reds that I have purchased from MAC and they certainly won’t be the last.
Lady bug is a lustre finish, which I would usually shy away from but it was love at first swatch! LB is a beautiful classic red, with the perfect amount of sheen without being too sheer. Just like the rest of MAC’s lipsticks, it is incredibly pigmented and the longevity of them always blows me away.
We take a step over to the dark side, with Dubonnet. This is more of deep burgundy red, which would look amazing paired with a chocolate brown smokey eye, or even just with a classic wing. I recommend you do apply a liner underneath this, as it does often to tend to bleed as it so dark.
RRP : £15.50
Next onto something more affordable, and berry toned! Ever since they were launched, I have been a fan of Revlon’s Lacquer and Matte balms. A berry lip is something that I do not wear very often, but I think that Whimsical could be very much a game changer.
One of the main reasons why I love these balms is because even though they are extremely glittery, they are sheer enough to wear them during the day. Paired with a simple base and eye look, you can easily glide the creamy formula over your lips and be good to go! They are also perfect to throw into your handbag, to reapply during the day.
RRP : £7.99
Now let’s move onto the liners! When I first picked up a bunch of essence cosmetics lipliners, I was slightly apprehensive that they could be a little drying. But it turns out I was wrong, and they are now my favourite lip liner brand. Femme Fatale, just like MAC’s Ladybug, is the perfect classic red and when paired together they are a wonderful combination.
When applying, there is no need for tugging on your lips as it glides on perfectly and from one application it can be worn alone!
RRP : £1.00
And finally, something on the more neutral side. After hearing my beautiful friend Paige who’s blog you can read here, rave about these liners, I just had to pick some up for myself!
After not being able to pull off velvet teddy, and with a £15.50 price tag I really didn’t want to just impulse buy, so I decided to pick up this shade as it was very similar as well as being more budget friendly! It is still slightly too brown toned for me, but with a burgundy eye and a tan, I’m pretty sure I can make it work for me.
For a Primark make-up range, there is no tugging whilst applying and they also have a buttery soft formula!
RRP : £1.50
