Spring and Summer Brights

Hello my Lovelies! As much as I love the dark eyes and red lips during the a/w seasons, I love when you can begin to rotate your make-up for the s/s seasons. This year for me will be the year of the bright lip, instead of the stereotypical pastel pinks and nudes for the lip. I hope you enjoy reading about my favourites, and leave your own down below so I can try them out 🙂

( Lipstick Swatches From Left to Right)

Sleek Gloss Me in Kiss & Tell

First of all the only coral-red shade in my selection. Sleek describes these as a “maximum high-shine coverage” glosses that “ensure a dazzling pout all day long” and “ultra intense, long lasting colour that doesn’t stray, drenching lips in a full coat of gloss in just one application”.  Although the coverage will vary depending on what shade you pick and the natural hue of the lip. Kiss & Tell is a very semi opaque coral red coverage, which looks amazing with my favourite copper eye look. With the nice balance of being non-sticky with a nice shine their is nothing about this gloss that I do not love. For a gloss they do have great staying power, only just starting to fade after 4-5 hours, and for just £4.99 I will defiantly be purchasing more and I recommended that you do to!

Sleek Lip 4 Lipstick Palette In Showgirl

Sleek designed the Lip4, a colour rich lipstick quad designed to suit all skin tones, in a range of complementary shades, with different finishes including matte, gloss and satin. This is the pink tone palette, featuring the shades Lola ( Bubblegum Pink ) ,  Vegas ( Berry Pink ), Jewel ( Baby Pink ) and finally Dancer ( Barbie Pink ) .

All of the shades in the palette are incredibly pigmented and have amazing staying power. The glossy finished shades have to be topped up more than the matte and satin shades, as they become more of a lip stain. For just £8.99, this is the perfect handbag essential as it also includes a mini lip brush and a mirror, amazing for on the go!

Art Deco Hydra Lip Booster in 55 Hot Pink

Most lip-glosses on the market are either incredibly sheer, too gooey or glittery. I first of all love the colour of this, as it has the perfect combination of a bright fuchsia pink with a sheer shine.  The gloss retails at $14.99, but as this was a gift with purchase, I would much rather buy a gloss from MAC or Urban Decay.  As the staying power of these glosses is not the best, and I would much rather have something that lasts longer than an hour.

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Lickable

With my skin-tone, I am far better with a clean blue-pink so this is the perfect bright pink for me, especially when I have tanned. Lickable is a Cremesheen, so the formula is creamy, with good long-lasting colour pay-off. It is semi-opaque, but the pigmentation can be built with a few more swipes for full opacity.

I can see my obsession with bright pinks growing a lot over the new seasons. Despite looking bright and intimidating in the tube, bright pinks lighten up quite nicely when mixed with lesser-intense, muted pinks.

thank-you for reading

lots of love

Hannah XOXO
